We are really pleased to offer for sale this outstanding 1988 Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia

A rare sight on todays roads and what a specimen this one is!

Purchased by its previous owner in 03.23 as a very honest nice solid car (photos on file) and then subject to a huge amount of expenditure as outlined below to make it as perfect as he could.

Body

Underseal stripped from undercarriage to bare metal treated with 4 coats of Hummerite smooth, then white stone chip coated. Fuel tank removed and this area treated at the same time too. New outer seals, all four internal wheel arches stripped back and painted to the same standard as the under chassis.

Interior stripped as per photos, bulk head solid with both inner seals strengthened to ensure longevity. Both front and rear screens removed to seek out any rust, none found. New front and rear window rubbers fitted. Floor pans and parcel shelf stripped and painted with 4 coats of Hammarite. Sunroof and seal  replaced. Rear shock turrets are solid, boot coated in Hammarite smooth and rear quarter panels wax sealed. Battery tray has no rust.

New headlining, doors wax sealed, speakers refurbished, original stereo and amp refurbished with Sony Bluetooth stereo fitted in glovebox. Spare glovebox to come with the car for originality.

Interior has been deep cleaned and is in great condition throughout.

Fuel pump, fuel pump bracket refurbished, new fuel tank (powder coated), New fuel hoses and seals, new rear wish bones with new bushes, rear anti-roll bar refurbished and new bushes, new anti-roll bar drop link bushes, new rear gas shocks and XR3i rear springs, poly bush rear sway arm bushes, refurbished rear drums, Brembo rear brake cylinders, rear shoes and springs, new rear brake pipes and rear wheel bearings.. Refurbished RS Turbo wheels and full set of Ghia I pepper pots accompany the sale (require refurb and tyres).

New exhaust, new front lower arms with bushes, new front gas shocks and XR3i springs, new front brake calipers, new Brembo front disks and pads.

Engine

New camshaft, hydraulic lifters, valve stem oil seals, new alternator, new oil, air, fuel filters, fresh oil, new sump gasket, new spark plugs, HT leads, distributor cap and rotor arm. New coil, coolant and silicone hoses, new heater matrix and rocker cover gasket. New water pump, cam belt and tensioner, new thermostat, new camshaft oil seal. New distributor O ring.

Showing 32k miles on the speedo currently, 75k miles recorded in 12.13 with the speedo returned to 0.000 upon replacement we are told. Mileage is now somewhat irrelevant.

Body work externally in our opinion is largely original and very clean throughout, no rust to be seen but does show areas of previous paintwork.
