1966 Factory Built Racing Motorcycle
The TT Special was a factory racer intended for competition in the US TT Steeplechase events and was sold on both the west and east coasts of the USA.
The T120C/ TT was produced in limited numbers from 1963 to 1967 so they are all very rare

Matching frame and engine numbers authenticated stamping from the ‘Guru’ Charles Rising.

Manufactured for five model years (1963-1967), Triumph’s fire-breathing TT Special is one of the world’s most famous high performance 650cc production-racing motorcycles.

From its introduction in early 1963 through the early 1970s, it won more American TT Scrambles races than any other machine, perhaps more than all other big-bore bikes combined.

It was also a feared drag-strip competitor.

The records clearly identify the bike as 1966 T120C TT Special (production year for the 1966 model T120s started on 14th August 1965 with DU25377), with ET battery less ignition.

The first two batches of TT Specials for 1966, built in August and October 1965, were all stamped “T120C”, in keeping with all previous TT Specials. From the 3rd batch, production starting on 9th December 1965, the “T120TT” engine and frame stamp was used.

Approximately 500 T120C stamped TT Specials were built in the first two batches.

In total 1,307 with T120C and T120TT stamps, were built for 1966.
