We are really pleased to offer this outstanding and incredibly original early Victor FE 1800
She has covered a mere 18,700 miles from new and was with the original owner some 42 years.
The mileage was covered in its first two years of ownership, with its original owner down in Plymouth.
In 1974 (73 & 74 tax disc copies in the file) due to the passing of the lady owner she was parked up in a garage in Plymouth where she was sold new and that is where she laid until 2014 when she was sold by the original owners son, letter on file to confirm this.
The car was sold to a Vauxhall enthusiast and collector but the V5C had been misplaced, fortunately the buff logbook showing the one and only original keeper accompanied the car, a copy in the file
She was purchased with the view to bringing back on the road being such an original and solid car but it appears this did not happen. She was then sold on again through the owners club in 2022 to another enthusiast and Victor collector.
When the car was sold on in 2014 the paintwork was tired and was clearly showing its age (photos on file) and the usual Vauxhalls quality control with a top coat onto bare metal and no primer approach meant this car certainly needed a fresh paint job. Surface corrosion was obviously commonplace on these Vauxhalls.
The exterior has now received a glass out bare metal paint in its factory colour. Full photo log in the file.
The interior is untouched and is like stepping back in time and presents immaculately, a really wonderful place to be.
The new owner re-registered the car in his name with DVLA under its original registration number, had the car MOT’d and inspected and authenticated by the Vauxhall drivers club and obtained a certificate of manufacture from Vauxhall Heritage.
Being a June 1972 car this a very rare and early car having the bench front seats and upright shocks.
Door alignments, sill gaps etc are all as they left the factory and are fabulous.
The internals of the door shuts etc have all been left original and preserved rather than freshly painted, same with the original door seals, the car has then been clear waxoyl treated in any common areas to keep moisture out.
A preservation class car that has never been fully restored and some additional paint accompanies the car should the new owner wish to take it that step further it could easily be done.
The underside of the car is as it left the factory.
Mechanically the car has been lightly recommissioned, reconditioned engine, brakes, hoses, exhaust etc all replaced where required and the fresh MOT that was placed on the car expires 09.24.
The car sports the original wheels and embellishers, looking like the day it left the factory, most are often so far gone or changed out for modern wheels.
The car if put into use would benefit from a fresh set of tyres to your choice. The spare looks like brand new but is most likely its original
The history file also contains the original early Victor Owners Handbook, various letters etc
A rare opportunity to find an incredibly well preserved Victor thats never needed a full restoration. Clearly not perfect and still room for further loving but nevertheless an unrepeatable find.
